Jean Duzenack, 78, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 3, 2010. Jean was born on July 25, to the late Owen and Ethel Brown. She graduated from La Veta High School in 1950 and had been an avid Redskins fan ever since. For 32 years, Jean was the secretary at La Veta High School, where she impacted many students’ lives. Jean was an active member of the La Veta United Methodist Church and the Tuesday Night Study Club. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and with her breakfast club friends, but her greatest goal in life was to be the best mother, grandmother and friend that she could be. Jean is survived by husband of 60 years, Bill Duzenack. She is further survived by four children, Dale (Susie) Duzenack, Irene (Maurice) Heikes, Bill Duzenack Jr. and Diane (Paul) Morgan; brother, Carl Brown; sister, Barbara Bridges; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eternal sister, Donna Robino. Service, 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, La Veta United Methodist Church, with interment following at La Veta cemetery.
